About our founder and senior designer Jean-Christophe Burckhardt
Lumitalia was founded by Jean-Christophe Burckhardt — a Swiss, French and Australian citizen with longstanding personal ties to Italy — to give Australian architects, specifiers and designers direct access to Italian outdoor and architectural lighting. Jean-Christophe visits each Italian partner at their factories regularly, ensuring every specification supplied through Lumitalia is backed by the design and engineering teams who actually make the product. The company operates from Sydney, working alongside Christophe Living for residential pathways and directly with trade for project-scale specifications.
He also trained in personal development psychology in London. Jean-Christophe has a strong interest in applying his understanding of how the design and décor of the home can enhance our wellbeing, personal development and support harmony in the relationships within the home.
